February 2013 Newsletter

You are receiving this newsletter a little earlier this month because Clyde and I are leaving on the 9 th for a couple of weeks in sunny Florida and I wanted to get it to you before we left. As the Minutes of the January meeting were not yet available, they will be distributed at the February meeting.

We are excited to welcome Sr. Mary Tewes and some of the oblates of the St. Walburga Monastery in Covington, Kentucky as special guests at our meeting on the 24th. Fr. Meinrad Brune, OSB, will be our special guest speaker for this meeting. The topic of his talk is: “Lectio Divina: Accepting the Embrace of God (Understanding Lectio Divina).”

I would like to express our appreciation to Melinda & Bob Reckers, our former webmasters, for their generosity in, once again, covering the expense of our Cincinnati Chapter website. (You will recall that Bob & Melinda paid this expense for many years without our even knowing it, and they have continued to do so even after their move to Texas!) Thank you, Bob & Melinda!

Fr. Adrien Burke, OSB, will be the presenter for the Oblate Retreat at Saint Meinrad from March 20-22. The topic of this retreat is “Lectio Divina and Spiritual Work: Praying and Progress.” I do not know if spaces are still available at this late date, but if you are interested in attending and have not ye made your reservations, it would be a good idea to do it right away.

God willing, we will see each other on the 24th! Have a Happy St.Valentines Day!
