The November meeting will be held on Sunday, November 22, at 2:00 p.m. in the St. Joseph room of the parish center at St. Gertrude Parish in Madeira. Our guest speaker, Fr. Luke Waugh, OSB, will address the topic “Oblation and Vocation: A Benedictine Model for Discernment.” It will be nice to see Fr. Luke again. The last time he visited our chapter meeting was before his recent ordination. This will give us the opportunity to congratulate him.

On the reverse side you will find a Prayer for All Deceased Oblates of the Chapter. Please bring this with you to the meeting next Sunday; we will pray this prayer for all the deceased members of our chapter.

The December 11-13 oblate retreat at Saint Meinrad features Fr. Harry Hagen, OSB, speaking on the topic “People Called in the Bible.” Because of the renovations and repairs underway at the monastery, however, the only rooms available at Saint Meinrad will be in the Guest House. If you have not already made your reservations, it may be difficult to find a room.

The Day of Recollection for Ohio oblates is being held in Dayton this year on May 21. Fr. Adrian Burke, OSB, will speak on “Let Them Prefer Nothing Whatever to Christ.” This is a wonderful opportunity for the Ohio oblates to spend the day together reflecting on our vocation as oblates of St. Benedict. You won’t want to miss this, so please mark your calendars.

Fr. Adrien Burke is the featured speaker at the June 13-16 Oblate Study Days at Saint Meinrad. “The Benedictine Way to a Spirituality of Imperfection,” is the topic of the study days.

There is no meeting next month due to the December oblate retreat at Saint Meinrad. Therefore, I take this opportunity to wish you all a Happy Thanksgiving, a blessed Christmas, and a Happy New Year.

The January meeting will be held January 24, 2016.
