We were pleased to welcome Bro. Peduru Fonseka, OSB as the guest speaker at our September meeting. Bro. Peduru spoke about our vocation to become an oblate of Saint Meinrad and how it was a call from within that brought us to this community. Ron DeMarco gives a wonderful summary of Bro. Peduru’s talk in the Minutes of the September meeting.

The October 25 meeting will be held at 2:00 p.m. in the St. Joseph Room of the St. Gertrude Parish Center. As we will cover Conference #2 of Praying and Singing the Psalms with Fr. Harry Hagen, please remember to bring your book to the meeting. 

We would like to welcome Deacon John Lyons to our chapter. Deacon John made his final oblation at Saint Meinrad on September 23. We also welcome John Rasche from Bonnyman, KY, who joined us at our September meeting.

We have had several recent prayer requests. Please pray for Joel, who is in a coma following a serious car accident, and for Bill Neal (husband of Dayton oblate Marianna Neal) who is scheduled for a biopsy later this month. Also, please remember oblate Mary Steidle and her sister, Sr. Jeannette Frisch, OSB, both of whom are in failing health. Cards can be mailed to the at the following addresses:
